CIMT Testing Event

The Carotid Intima Media Thickness (CIMT) test is a non-invasive diagnostic test used for the detection of early cardiovascular disease. With this test you will receive the “age” of your arteries to help you understand your risk of cardiovascular disease, including heart attack or stroke. This can help you make a prevention or treatment plan with your doctor.

The CIMT Test consists of an ultrasound of your neck to check for plaque buildup in your carotid arteries. It is a safe and painless test that only takes 10-15 minutes with a certified technician. Results are typically received within two weeks of the test. If you are not a PALM member, you will receive a complimentary 30-minute visit or phone call with a nurse practitioner to review your results.
