Maryam Naemi

Maryam Naemi, DO

Dr. Maryam Naemi is a primary care physician joining PALM Health with more than 20 years of experience in caring for patients in the St. Louis community. She has substantial experience in primary care, ranging from annual and preventative exams to routine and acute health issues to complex medical care for patients of all ages.

She earned her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and subsequently finished a residency program in family medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is currently working on completing her training in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine.

She sees functional medicine as an approach that offers new and improved tools, which in combination with her conventional medical knowledge will provide a more personalized approach in preventive care, managing chronic illness, and treating the root cause, not just the symptoms of a disease.

Dr. Naemi has always believed that healing comes from listening to and truly understanding each patient’s path, goals, and obstacles. She is enthusiastic about partnering with patients to help empower them in achieving their optimal health.

“I welcome the chance to practice primary care in a supportive setting where we can spend an expanded amount of time with our patients, far beyond the traditional medicine practice from my previous role. I am so excited to be able to listen to all aspects of my patients’ lives and experiences. It makes all the difference.”

“I began my medical career with osteopathic training, which focuses on helping the body to heal itself. This belief is similar to our functional medicine approach at PALM Health. However, functional medicine gives us newer and additional tools to help patients balance their physiological systems and to achieve their best health. I am enjoying my training and am on track to complete it by the end of this year.”

“PALM Health offers our patients and us the opportunity to craft a personalized care plan with all resources under one roof.  For example, if a patient would benefit from dietary changes, we have the tools and dietitians to help teach people how to put this into action. If they would benefit from acupuncture for chronic pain relief, or to improve sleep or stress levels, we have two experts on our team that can provide that wellness service. PALM truly brings to life the vision of holistic care for mind, body and spirit.”

The clinic is now taking appointments for Dr. Naemi’s schedule beginning February 15, 2020. If you are interested in becoming a patient of Dr. Naemi, please contact a PALM Navigator or reception.
