What is the Heart Health Program?

The Heart Health Diagnostic Program is built for individuals who are interested in learning their risk factors for heart disease and how to optimize their cardiovascular health. The program includes a full preventive cardiology and functional medicine assessment and a diagnostic profile of their cardiometabolic status. Participants can expect to receive a comprehensive report with recommendations on how to improve their cardiovascular health and prevent future cardiovascular events.

The structure of the program consists of assessments and medical visits. Assessments will occur in the first two weeks. Visits with medical providers will occur through the fifth week, which will conclude with a combined visit with the providers on the program team to review their findings and recommendations.

What are the benefits of the program?

The Heart Health Program is primarily a diagnostic program. The benefits include cardiology initial visits, functional medicine initial visits, specialty lab work, functional nutrition assessments, and cardiovascular testing. After the assessments, participants will receive a comprehensive report outlining the team’s assessment and findings along with a detailed list of recommendations for what individuals can do to promote heart health and prevent cardiovascular events.

What are the key elements of the program?

The program consists of the following key elements:

  • Combined cardiology and functional medicine assessment and examination with a cardiologist and nurse practitioner
  • Cardiac testing will include CT coronary artery scan, ultrasound of carotid arteries, and a cardiac stress echo
  • Specialty lab testing will include the Boston Heart Diagnostics® Panel, which provides a comprehensive view into cholesterol, insulin resistance, and genetic contributors to cardiovascular disease
