In this art workshop, adults and their child(ren) will partner to create a pop-up book based on an animal. Beginners are invited to start with a dog, cat, or duck. More confident artists are welcome to challenge themselves with a rabbit, monkey, peacock, or animal of their choosing. Participants will connect emotion with creativity to express gratitude, sympathy, friendship, and more through artistically crafted hand-printed images.

All materials will be provided, but participants are invited to bring photocopies of meaningful objects from their home, office, or life. Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro will teach you how to utilize Harvard’s Project Zero Observational routine to observe carefully and interpret thoughtfully. She will show you how ever-increasing fine motor and visual challenges help open new neural networks, increasing neuroplasticity and self-directedness.
Learn how to emphasize texture in painting. In this art workshop, participants will experiment with acrylic paint, modeling paste, and other additives to bring subtle texture to the painting they create. PALM Health’s Art for Well-Being instructor, Maria Ojascastro, will provide materials, instructions, and samples to inspire creativity.
