This two-session social dance workshop series, Rhythm and Moves, is designed to build confidence and creativity so you can dance with a partner to any kind of music. No experience is necessary. Ashley will introduce the neurobiology of creativity: what goes on in the brain when we are being creative and when we are not. Amanda will lead the group through a series of movement exercises that help build new pathways in the brain while discussing creativity in our daily lives.

Classes will cover partnering skills, foundational steps and patterns, basic footwork, Cuban hip motion, and unique character, rhythm, and style. Come with or without a partner. Rotating partners is encouraged, as it significantly increases learning and retention. These classes are appropriate for all levels: no prior dance experience necessary. Leather or felt-soled shoes are best. No high heels, please, to protect the floor. Class size is limited to 24 people.
