Join us in the atrium for a pop-up shop with Adam Foster Fine Jewelry, a local St. Louis jewelry maker. Adam will be featuring his trendy permanent jewelry bracelets, in which he will permanently affix the bracelet you choose around your wrist. He will also be featuring his popular Origami Collection, many pieces from his Constellation Collection, his diamond earring huggies, as well as his new plain gold earring huggies in all sizes. Over the last twenty years, Adam Foster has created a loyal following of his jewelry designs, both in St. Louis and around the country. He pairs Old World jewelry-making techniques with the latest technology to create pieces that are both organically inspired and visually arresting, with a touch of whimsy. Adam’s pieces can be found at Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue stores, as well as several independent jewelry stores throughout the country.

Art Class: Watercolor Mandalas

Spend quality time with your mother or grandmother on Mother’s Day weekend, or create a handmade gift for her at a special art class event! Maria Ojascastro, Art for Well-Being instructor, will walk you step-by-step through the process of designing and painting your own mandala, which is a specific geometric configuration of symbols. Novice and experienced artists are invited to enjoy this meditative art experience. The class will be outside if weather permits.

Both shy and experienced artists are invited to express themselves with color and texture while learning non-figurative painting. Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro will teach you how to blend acrylic paint to create secondary and tertiary colors. Then she will challenge you to experiment with a palette knife, plastic fork, and aluminum foil to create a non-figurative painting inspired by the work of Amy Sillman. Enjoy 90 minutes of creativity to exercise your brain and boost your mood while receiving personalized instruction.

In this art workshop, we’ll use Pablo Picasso’s “Bottle of Suze” as our inspiration. Both novice and experienced artists will enjoy stretching their creativity with Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro. You’ll learn art history and design concepts and receive guidance on making your own unique work of art. Supplies needed: pencil, eraser, scissors, glue stick or glue, 2-3 magazines and/or newspapers, 2 pieces of paper from your printer or any color construction paper, an interesting bottle, and acrylic or watercolor paint.

Get ready to experiment with watercolor, salt, spice, and liquid soap. Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro will teach you elements of art and design, introduce you to the style of master artist Henri Matisse and contemporary artist Lance Whitner, and give you individualized instruction. Enjoy 1½ hours exercising your creativity and interacting with other PALM artists. If you don’t have watercolor paint, brushes, and paper, Blick Art Materials and Michael’s have curbside pickup (which may change with COVID-19 circumstances).

Succulent Planting

Instead of candy hearts and paper valentines, give your friends and loved ones a succulent this Valentine’s Day! In this workshop, learn how to plant and care for a succulent arrangement with Laura Dooley of LoKey Designs. Laura will take participants through the step-by-step process of choosing a succulent, handling and planting it, decorating it with natural materials, and watering it. Participants will receive one succulent or cactus of their choosing (additional plants may be purchased for $5 each), a container, planting materials, and care instructions to take home. Light refreshments will be provided.
