In this five-day stop-motion video camp with Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro, participants will use their own iPad or iPhone to create stop-motion videos and art that’s ready to be displayed. Download “I Can Animate” on your iPad or “Stop Motion Studio” on your iPhone. Supplies needed: Please pull from your stash or purchase the following: model magic, oil pastels, pencil, eraser, scissors, black paper, white paper, black marker, acrylic paint, brushes, palette, jar of water, paper towels, plastic bag to cover the table, canvas boards, scissors, glue stick, and tape.
Classes will cover partnering skills, foundational steps and patterns, basic footwork, Cuban hip motion, and unique character, rhythm, and style. Come with or without a partner. Rotating partners is encouraged, as it significantly increases learning and retention. These classes are appropriate for all levels: no prior dance experience necessary. Leather or felt-soled shoes are best. No high heels, please, to protect the floor. Class size is limited to 24 people.
