Learn techniques to trust intuition in the creative process. In this art workshop, Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro, MFA, will lead participants through a hands-on mixed media experience that transforms preprinted text, paint, and collage material into a vehicle for creative expression. Coffee, kombucha, tea, and wine will be available, along with some light snacks and refreshments.

Sip ‘n Paint: Encaustic Collage

Oak Room

Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro will teach participants how to use encaustic wax and collage materials to explore objects that trigger memories or represent a glimpse of their life story. All materials will be provided, but participants are invited to bring photocopies of meaningful objects from their home, office, or life. Coffee, kombucha, tea, and wine will be available, along with some light snacks and refreshments.

Sip ‘n Mixed Media

In this art workshop, participants will learn basic proportions for drawing a portrait and then will paint and collage with Art for Well-Being instructor, Maria Ojascastro, taking inspiration from Daniel Lismore, sculptor, designer, and author of Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken. All materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own found objects (stray earrings, interesting buttons, small coins etc.). Coffee, kombucha, tea, and wine will be available, along with light snacks and refreshments. $48 per person, for members and their guests.

Sip ‘n Paint Mashup

Boost your immunity by exercising your creativity and spending quality time with other PALM members. We’ll take inspiration from both French Impressionist Claude Monet and Pop Artist Rosalyn Drexler and create our own master mashup. Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro will provide a lesson about art history, elements of art, and painting techniques. You’ll provide acrylic or watercolor paint, canvas or paper, and a fun beverage.

Virtual Art Studio

In this art workshop, we’ll use Pablo Picasso’s “Bottle of Suze” as our inspiration. Both novice and experienced artists will enjoy stretching their creativity with Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro. You’ll learn art history and design concepts and receive guidance on making your own unique work of art. Supplies needed: pencil, eraser, scissors, glue stick or glue, 2-3 magazines and/or newspapers, 2 pieces of paper from your printer or any color construction paper, an interesting bottle, and acrylic or watercolor paint.

Art Class: Holiday Cards

In this festive art class with Maria Ojascastro, participants will explore mono-print and collaging techniques to create unique holiday cards, just in time for the holiday season. Colorful and textured papers will be provided, but participants can feel free to bring any special objects, papers, or fabric they would like to use.

Art Class: Vision Board Collage

Sharpen your observation skills and envision what you want your future to look like. In this pop-up art class, artist Maria Ojascastro will give step-by-step instructions on how to draw your eyes. She will then provide magazines for you to cut out words, phrases, and images that you’ll use to create a collage around the drawing. Both novice and experienced artists will enjoy exercising their creativity and making a vision board in this 90-minute class.

In this art class, teaching artist Maria Ojascastro will encourage participants to reimagine their world by using pattern, texture, and color. Both novice and experienced artists will enjoy 90 minutes of collaging onto a figure drawing template with other creative individuals.
