Social Dance Fundamentals
Oak RoomWith holiday parties just around the corner, get comfortable on the dance floor! This two-session social dance workshop series, Rhythm and Moves, is designed to build confidence and creativity so you can dance with a partner to any kind of music. No experience is necessary. Leather or felt-soled shoes are recommended. No high heels, please, to protect the beautiful Oak Room wood floor.
Succulent Planting
Oak RoomInstead of candy hearts and paper valentines, give your friends and loved ones a succulent this Valentine’s Day! In this workshop, learn how to plant and care for a succulent arrangement with Laura Dooley of LoKey Designs. Laura will take participants through the step-by-step process of choosing a succulent, handling and planting it, decorating it with natural materials, and watering it. Participants will receive one succulent or cactus of their choosing (additional plants may be purchased for $5 each), a container, planting materials, and care instructions to take home. Light refreshments will be provided.
Contemporary Dance Class
Join us for a special evening of dance! PALM welcomes Sarah Hultsch, a visiting instructor from Vallauris, France, who will offer members and guests a beginner/intermediate class of contemporary dance. The class will begin by exploring basic contemporary techniques, then it will incorporate light choreography, and finally it will include some time for individual creativity. Please wear comfortable clothes and socks to move around in. Sarah instructs dancers of all ages and abilities at Studios Actuels de la Danse, recipient of the award for Best Contemporary Dance School of the Year in 2020. She is also a member of the UNESCO International Dance Council.
