Benefits of the Trilogy
Oak RoomThe Trilogy, our ultimate wellness therapies package, combines the cryosauna, the thermal suite, and the Himalayan salt room to reset the body and jump-start detoxification. In this seminar, our Wellness Therapies Lead, Dr. Emily Guilfoy, will address the history, theory, and benefits of receiving this trifecta of rejuvenating services.
Setting SMART Goals
Oak RoomThere is a French saying, “c’est en forgeant qu’on devient forgeron,” which translates to “it is smithing that makes the smith,” or “it is in doing that we become.” Working towards meaningful goals is inherently transformative. Accomplishing personal goals improves our sense of purpose, self-efficacy, and satisfaction with life. In this seminar, well-being coach Sarah Lewis will teach you to formulate, set, and take action on your goals using the SMART method and concepts from Anthropedia’s Know Yourself workshops.
Personality, Health, and Happiness
Oak RoomIn this Lunch and Learn, world-renowned psychiatrist Dr. C. Robert Cloninger, Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis and Director of the Anthropedia Institute, will describe how to recognize and cultivate personality traits that help us to live more healthy, satisfying, and meaningful lives. Using the Temperament and Character Inventory, which he developed, he will identify how the way we learned to adapt to life’s challenges and opportunities affects our physical, mental, and social well-being.
Getting to the Root Cause
Oak RoomWhat is functional medicine, and why do the physicians at PALM Health use this approach? In this seminar, Dr. Scott Jamison, an Institute of Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner, will explain how functional medicine gets to the root cause of illness. Dr. Jamison will address how this diagnostic approach helps resolve underlying medical conditions instead of treating individual symptoms.
Functional Nutrition
Oak RoomPoor eating and stress-related habits have resulted in high levels of obesity, heart disease, and other health problems in our world today. In this seminar, Victoria Nieveen, registered dietitian and Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner, will take a deeper look into why food matters and address how functional nutrition focuses on the underlying causes of chronic illnesses to lead individuals to a healthier and significantly more sustainable life of quality and wellness.
Jumpstarting Your Fitness Routine
Oak RoomAre you finding it challenging to understand why you should develop a fitness routine or where to begin? In this seminar, personal trainers Katheryn Scauzzo and Andrew Tucker will provide motivation for individuals to start a new fitness routine and direction to develop a sound plan for implementing specific exercise goals.
Full Body Detox
Oak RoomWith increased exposure to pollutants, the human body is more challenged than ever before to sustain well-being. In this seminar, Dr. Emily Guilfoy, Wellness Therapies Lead, Chiropractor, and Acupuncturist at PALM Health, will explore ways to support the body’s natural detoxification pathways and how to incorporate these practices into your daily wellness routine.
Lymphatic Drainage
Lotus Room MOIf you are prone to fluid retention or if you experience swelling in your arms and legs, it could be a sign of poor lymphatic drainage. In this seminar, massage therapist Bronson Thorn will explain how lymphatic massages can help rid the body of toxins and restore balance to the lymph system, part of the body’s immune system that helps fight infection. Bronson will also highlight the benefits of using castor oil packs and demonstrate proper dry brushing techniques.
Lunch and Learn: What is Well-Being, Really?
Join us in the Oak Room for a nutritious three-course meal from the PALM Café and a discussion from Dr. Kevin Cloninger, Director of Well-Being Coaching. The search for greater well-being, greater self-understanding, and greater health and happiness is as old as the hills. Wellness is much more than “self-care,” buying fitness trackers, or doing the latest fad diet, but in the current media environment it is hard to tell. In this presentation, Dr. Kevin Cloninger will look at a more expansive definition of, and approach to, wellness and what is actually needed to improve both mental and physical health. He will also discuss why there is perhaps nothing of greater importance than the search for well-being as we face the multiple overlapping crises of our times.
