CONCIERGE PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN AND FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE SPECIALIST
Dr. Roca is a board-certified Family Medicine Physician and Functional Medicine Specialist dedicated to the principles of whole-person health and integrative medicine. He recognizes that total health and well-being are the outcomes to which every medical encounter should lead. Because diseases are rarely singular and each dysfunction tends to drive other dysfunctions, Dr. Roca believes understanding and resolving the root causes of illness can help bring the mind, body, and spirit toward optimal functioning. Dr. Roca emphasizes the importance of predicting and preventing genetic or familial diseases, and he has a particular interest in working with patients who experience chronic multi-symptom illnesses such as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, inflammatory and autoimmune challenges, and underlying cardiometabolic diseases. Dr. Roca loves helping individuals reduce their medication burden as their disease process reverses.
Dr. Roca received his undergraduate degrees from Washington University and his medical degree from Louisiana State University, followed by a residency and internship at Marshall University. He has since created multiple Integrative Medicine programs and Whole Health programs across the nation, including the Integrative Medicine Section at LSU School of Medicine and the Veteran’s Administration Whole Health Program. Dr. Roca has also served as faculty at LSU School of Medicine, Yale School of Medicine, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and the University of Maryland’s Institute for Graduate Studies. In addition to being a long-time teacher, Dr. Roca is also a lifelong learner and adventurer — he enjoys traveling, being in nature, experimenting with new foods, listening to live local music, and gardening in his spare time.
