Lily Liu, OMD, PhD, LAc

ACUPUNCTURIST

Dr. Liu is one of a few acupuncturists who holds both MD and PhD degrees with oriental and western medical training. She graduated from ShanDong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 1988. After she practiced Chinese medicine and acupuncture in hospitals in China for over ten years, she moved to Japan to earn her PhD of Medical Sciences at Kyoto University in 2005. She then came to Washington University Medical School for her post-doctoral fellowship. Now she is a nationally certified acupuncturist by NCCAOM, as well as a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Missouri. Dr. Liu uses her oriental and western medical training background to diagnose the root of disease, which enables her to provide the holistic treatment that will help her patients live a pain-free and healthy life. She successfully treats a wide range of diseases, including arthritis, migraines, menopause syndrome, GI issues, depression, anxiety, pre- and post-surgical pain, and other common health issues. Her strong medical training background, passions for her patients’ well-being, and her painless needle technique have satisfied patients who trust her for their ongoing health.

GET STARTED WITH LILY

“Dr. Lily is amazing! I have had terrible menopausal symptoms with hot flashes, fatigue, brain fog, irritability. She has helped me tremendously working through each of those symptoms. My family and I are utterly grateful for her help with acupuncture.”

SARAH D., MARCH 2021

“I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years. After working with Lily and receiving acupuncture with her, I was pregnant in 3 months. I would recommend her to any woman trying to get pregnant.”

LINDSAY F., MARCH 2021

“I had my first visit with Dr. Lily. After telling her about my concerns, she quickly started with acupuncture and also cupping. My pain was totally alleviated, and the swelling in my hand was gone. I could move my hand and use it. My back and neck pain were much better! I had more flexibility, without pain. Dr. Lily said my body responded very well to the acupuncture. She made sure I had a follow-up appointment. I am so impressed, happy, and well thanks to Dr. Lily.”
