Beginners as well as experienced artists are invited to take inspiration from nature in this art workshop. To get warmed up, you will reference the work of New Yorker artist, Tom Gauld. Our Art for Well-Being instructor, Maria Ojascastro, will guide you as you illustrate your own lush garden. The workshop will gather on the outdoor patio, weather permitting, to nurture your creativity. Coffee, kombucha, tea, and wine will be available, along with some light snacks and refreshments.
Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro will teach participants how to use encaustic wax and collage materials to explore objects that trigger memories or represent a glimpse of their life story. All materials will be provided, but participants are invited to bring photocopies of meaningful objects from their home, office, or life. Coffee, kombucha, tea, and wine will be available, along with some light snacks and refreshments.
In this workshop, Angela Adler from SeedGeeks will lead a painting and planting workshop for children. Each child will receive a clay pot to paint and decorate, as well as their choice of SeedGeeks seeds to plant. The seed selection will include a range of heirloom, untreated, and open-pollinated seeds, including flowers such as lavender, chamomile, and sunflower, herbs such as chives, basil, and dill, and vegetables such as tomato, rainbow swiss chard, and cucumber.
Learn how to emphasize texture in painting. In this art workshop, participants will experiment with acrylic paint, modeling paste, and other additives to bring subtle texture to the painting they create. PALM Health’s Art for Well-Being instructor, Maria Ojascastro, will provide materials, instructions, and samples to inspire creativity. Coffee, kombucha, tea, and wine will be available, along with some light snacks and refreshments.
