Lotus Room MOBack by popular demand! Amanda Chesnutt and Ashley Wiegand will present an encore of their March seminar Brain Aerobics. Ashley will introduce the neurobiology of creativity: what goes on in the brain when we are being creative and when we are not. Amanda will lead the group through a series of movement exercises that help build new pathways in the brain while discussing creativity in our daily lives.

Come learn about the benefits of stretching and the most useful stretches for all the major muscle groups. Heather Walther, PT, has worked with physical therapy clients and professional athletes alike, and will help correct form and posture during this practical session. In this seminar, Jessica Dycus, CWC, will explore why movement is important for our well-being and how it cultivates our potential through neuroplasticity, self-expression, and coordination with others. She will conclude with practical exercises and tools for discovering and developing creativity.
Lunch and Learn: Movement Matters
Movement is essential for life, and the quality of our movement plays a critical role in our well-being, from injury prevention, to managing pain triggers, to performance outcomes, and beyond. Movement impairments can be a primary cause of many nagging and debilitating conditions. In this Lunch and Learn, Dr. Jason Biondo will look at the function of the musculoskeletal system, how muscle balance influences posture, function, and injury prevention, and the role of the nervous system in conducting the symphony that is our body.
Myofascial Release
Oak RoomMyofascial release techniques can be a helpful addition to a regular exercise regime to help improve mobility, prevent injury, release tension, and aid in muscle recovery after exercise or movement. In this practical session with Heather Walther, PT, participants will learn self-myofascial release techniques from head to toe. Please wear comfortable clothing to move around. Participants must have the ability to get up and down from the exercise mat.
Social Dance Fundamentals
Oak RoomWith holiday parties just around the corner, get comfortable on the dance floor! This two-session social dance workshop series, Rhythm and Moves, is designed to build confidence and creativity so you can dance with a partner to any kind of music. No experience is necessary. Leather or felt-soled shoes are recommended. No high heels, please, to protect the beautiful Oak Room wood floor.
HIIT and Mobility Class Event
Join us in the Oak Room for a pop-up HIIT and Mobility class with Maggie Loida, certified personal trainer. This High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class includes an additional focus on mobility: quick, intense bursts of exercise are followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods with stability centered movements. This pop-up class event will include a raffle, special surprise giveaways, participant gifts, energizing music, and an atmosphere of community and fun.

Exercise and fitness are essential for healthy living, but sometimes we can get lost in how to prioritize our fitness endeavors. From corrective exercises to cardio, or strength training to yoga, the options are vast. During this webinar, Dr. Jason Biondo will focus on how to develop a personalized exercise program relative to your goals. He will look at some of the latest trends and literature and how this can support you on your fitness journey.
Core Foundations: Building a Resilient Spine
Join us in the Oak Room for a pop-up class with Dr. Jason Biondo, chiropractor and Director of Fitness at PALM Health. This class will target movements that are foundational to building a healthy back and balanced core. Dr. Biondo will focus on spine stability, mobility, and endurance, as well as functional movements of the hips and lower body that demonstrate the kinetic linkage of the human body.
Contemporary Dance Class
Join us for a special evening of dance! PALM welcomes Sarah Hultsch, a visiting instructor from Vallauris, France, who will offer members and guests a beginner/intermediate class of contemporary dance. The class will begin by exploring basic contemporary techniques, then it will incorporate light choreography, and finally it will include some time for individual creativity. Please wear comfortable clothes and socks to move around in. Sarah instructs dancers of all ages and abilities at Studios Actuels de la Danse, recipient of the award for Best Contemporary Dance School of the Year in 2020. She is also a member of the UNESCO International Dance Council.
