This seminar will focus on the importance of self-care and how it applies to helping individuals let go of stress. Kevin Cloninger, PhD, PCC, will explore the neuroscience, philosophy, and evolutionary history of the mind-body relationship and delve into the nature and science of thought and the psychophysiology of stress. In conjunction, he will provide tools that can help individuals work on letting go of stress in their professional and personal lives, including physical exercises, relaxation techniques, and reflective exercises.

Young at Heart: Biohacking Your Cardiovascular System

In this Lunch and Learn, cardiologist Dr. Michael Twyman will address specific biohacks to optimize the health of the heart and circulatory system. He will focus on issues such as heart rate variability, recovery between workouts, seasonal nutrition, getting adequate sleep, limiting nighttime blue light and technology exposure, and other topics related to mitochondrial medicine and biohacking.

Like all other species on this planet, human beings have developed in harmony with the cycles of nature. In this seminar, our Director of Well-Being Coaching, Kevin Cloninger, PhD, PCC, will explore how nature affects human beings for better and sometimes for worse. He will also explore the healing power of nature and how an unbalanced natural environment affects people in ways they are barely—if at all—aware of. He will conclude with some tools and exercises to help manage these interactions.

Beginners as well as experienced artists are invited to take inspiration from nature in this art workshop. To get warmed up, you will reference the work of New Yorker artist, Tom Gauld. Our Art for Well-Being instructor, Maria Ojascastro, will guide you as you illustrate your own lush garden. The workshop will gather on the outdoor patio, weather permitting, to nurture your creativity. Coffee, kombucha, tea, and wine will be available, along with some light snacks and refreshments.

Succulent Planting

Learn how to plant and care for a succulent arrangement with Laura Dooley of LoKey Designs. Laura will take participants through the step-by-step process of choosing a succulent, handling and planting it, decorating it with natural materials, and watering it. Participants will receive one succulent or cactus of their choosing (additional plants may be purchased for $5 each), a container, planting materials, care instructions to take home, and light refreshments and treats from Sugaree Bakery Company.
