Ashley Kumar, physical therapist, will discuss the ideal form for running as well as how to perform an effective warm-up and strength training program to prevent common running injuries. She will also discuss optimal nutrition for active runners, as well as the best footwear to improve runs.

Sip ‘n Linoleum Block Print

In this art workshop, Art for Well-Being instructor Maria Ojascastro will teach participants to design and carve their own linoleum block prints to create handmade greeting cards. Participants will connect emotion with creativity to express gratitude, sympathy, friendship, and more through artistically crafted hand-printed images.

Oak RoomTake art into another dimension! In this sculpture workshop, you’ll use miniature boxes, found objects, and pre-printed text as a vehicle for creative expression. Art for Well-Being instructor, Maria Ojascastro, will provide examples, guidance, and materials, but participants are encouraged to bring small drawings, photos, or objects of meaning to include in their sculpture. Kombucha, tea, and wine will be available, along with light snacks and refreshments.

CaféTake inspiration from St. Louis Art Museum’s Art in Bloom celebration. Maria Ojascastro, Art for Well-Being instructor, will have textured papers, gelli printing plates, paint, and more to help you create artwork inspired by flowers and fine art. Both novice and experienced artists will enjoy stretching their creativity in this mixed media art workshop. Kombucha, tea, and wine will be available, along with light snacks and refreshments.
Sip ‘n Draw: Portrait Basics
In this art workshop, learn the basic proportions for drawing a portrait with Art for Well-Being Instructor Maria Ojascastro. All you need is a pencil, an eraser, paper from your printer, a dime, and colored pencils or watercolor pencils or markers. This is perfect for the shy artist who wants step-by-step instructions.
